2018 & Bread mad

It's the 3rd week into 2018 and I cannot believe how fast 2017 went and how eventful it was, to recap briefly I got a job in the industry I want to be working in, I went on a beautiful Italian holiday and I got my own flat. This year I hope to pass my driving test, get my blog going more frequently - pretty sure this was last years resolution too but life gets busy - and get more organised with life as a whole. For Christmas I got a kitchen mixer - something I have wanted for ages so I am so excited about it and as part of being more active on my blog I am going to start adding more recipes that I try out starting with this easy bread recipe.

To say I've gone bread mad would be an understatement...I have made 5 loaves in the space of a week. I can reassure that only 2 of them were for me and 1 of which didn't go well so I had to make a new loaf the following day.

Ingredients

- 500g Strong White Bread Flour
- 15ml Olive Oil
- 2 1/2 Teaspoons of fast acting yeast
- 10g Salt
- 5g Sugar
- 245ml warm water

1- Combine all of the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix in the oil

2- Slowly add the water mixing everything together to form a dough of ball, you may need to use your hands

3- Once the dough has formed, knead for 10 minutes on a floured surface until the dough is smooth

4- Place the dough in a bowl and cover with cling film, leave to rise in a warm dry place for 1.5hrs or until it has doubled in size

5- Take the dough out and knead lightly before placing it into a loaf tin with a cover over it and leaving it to rise for another 30 minutes during this time preheat your oven to 200C

6- Remove the cling and place in the oven to cook for 25-30 minutes you can tell when it is cooked by tapping on the bottom of the loaf, if it sounds hollow then it is cooked

My Current Everyday Makeup

As much as I like to play around with different makeup looks and colours of eyeshadow, when it comes to work I can't stand the thought of going in bare faced but I also can't afford to spend hours in the morning.

To start with I use my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, a foundation that I swear by because it applies really nicely, you don't need much of it and its a nice light coverage that you can build. I then put a light dusting of Rimmel's Stay Matte Transparent long lasting pressed powder over my face before applying a small amount of Bourjois Bronzing Powder in the shade Peaux claires 51 over my cheekbones and up around my hairline just to take the paleness away.

Then its time for the eyes which I turn to either my Urban Decay Naked 2 or Naked 3 palettes, two products that I have had for absolute ever using either Limit or Liar from Naked 3 or Tease from Naked 2 and apply all over my eyelid. I am currently using my Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye mascara but typically I would use a more affordable mascara such as the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara. To finish off I apply a very thin and faint line of NYX Retractable Eyeliner.

When I type this out it feels like a lot but I can do it in about 10-15 minutes if I am in a rush, I don't tend to bother with lips or any sort of contouring just as long as I have some sort of coverage over the red lines around my nose then I don't mind. For a while I even just used a BB Cream but changed to a foundation as I felt it was more affordable and longer lasting.

Get The Look: Disney Princess Inspired: Cinderella

Lindy Bop Aqua Marianne twin set (£55.00)
Silver Strappy Heeled Sandals (£22.49)
Irregular Choice Faith In Dreams Shoes (£130.00)
Debut Grey oversized clutch back (£25.00)
Black skinny lace choker (£3.99)

The 2nd post of this character inspired series...Cinderella has always been one of my favourite Disney princesses, it was this outfit that inspired me to start this mini series. This gorgeous blue dress which comes with a small jacket making it suitable for both day and night. If your a Disney fanatic and have a few extra pennies in the bank then the Cinderella Irregular Choice heels are the ones to wear, they don't necessarily match perfectly with the rest of this outfit but I couldn't not include them and I hope you can see why. If not then the simple silver sandals paired up with the silver clutch. If you were firstly thrown by the choker included in this outfit - something that is typically not considered very princess like then you shall see that Cinderella does in fact wear something around her neck. I believe it to be a navy blue ribbon but I felt that the lacy black choker was much more modern and in fashion.

There won't be a post this weekend or next week as I am away in Italy for a week so expect lots of holiday pics when I get back!!!

Homeware Haul

So finally I have my own place! Which of course means my hours on Pinterest admiring homeware and decor designs have become a reality plus I now work for a homeware/furniture store which doesn't help the bank so I thought I'd share with you a few of my recent purchases...

So first of all, I have gone for a sort of Grey, White and Pink theme in my room with a few copper accessories. I already had the battery powered fairy lights from uni which I got from Primark for £2.50 along with the cushion which was from the Range. The duvet set is from Dunelm for about £24 - my new favourite store which you will notice a regular re-occurance throughout this post.

This adorable trinket dish comes I think comes from my favourite online stationary and homeware store Typo for £6.
The copper cup which I use to store my makeup brushes came from Amazon for £5.99 and I originally found the candle holder on ASOS for £10 however I purchased the last one and then found them again on Amazon for £11.
Ok so there is a bit of a re-occuring  round mirrored copper dish came from Amazon for £4.99. I am still trying the best sort of things to put in it but I am thinking maybe a couple of tea-light holders or simply as another, larger trinket dish.
I brought this copper wire basket as a set of two with one of them is smaller than the other from ASOS for £20 - yes okay this was a pricey purchase but I couldn't find anything similar anywhere else. Ideally I was looking for two that were the same size but these have continued to do just what I need them to. They fit perfectly into these square units that I brought form IKEA. I use one for all of my paperwork and file storage and the other for hair products mostly.
This is my favourite purchase of them all, a Teddy Bear Rug from Dunelm which I brought for £29.99. It is the softest loveliest to stand on rug and I am completely in love with it. Everything about it is perfect, the colour, the size, everything! If you live near a Dunelm then do go and try it out, I have heard rumours of a Teddy Bear Blanket which I would love to try out as well.

This mirror is amazing. You may have seen them before but I brought it from The Range for £75 which is again expensive but I feel it is totally worth it! The front of the mirror opens and reveals a jewellery cupboard inside. I actually use it as you see for hair accessories, nail varnish and makeup palettes!

So that was my little haul, there are many more beautiful purchases that I made which I could easily ramble on for ages about but I thought I'd leave it as a small snippet and maybe you'll see the other pieces throughout other posts. I might put together a Pinterest board over the up coming week of everything so feel free to head on over and take a look! https://uk.pinterest.com/Sammys_Bubble/

Get The Look: Disney Princess Inspired: Belle

Dress - Yumi Lacy Dress (£37.00)
Shoes - Tan Suede Tie Up Mini Block Heels (£34.99)
Handbag - Tassel Saddle Bag (£16.00)

I wanted to do something a bit different for this post and it is going to turn into a bit of a series...every Wednesday for the next few of weeks I am going to post a character inspired get the look. Starting off this series I present to you Belle from Beauty and the Beast...

Belle, throughout the movie wears a white and blue outfit she is most known for her golden ball gown. This outfit is more suited to an every day look, I decided not to include any jewellery because of the high neckline and the brown belt across the middle. The choose the brown saddle bag because I felt that it best represented her home village, it looks handmade, its got that sort of natural rustic feel to it and its not over the top with its embellishments.

I did also fall in love with a dress that is more suited to the evening which is in the image below. This dress is almost a shorter modern version of the one Belle wears in the movie.

Home Sweet Home: The Moving Out Blog

If you couldn't already guess it from the title then...I have finally found someone to live with and I am now in my very own flat. Nothing majorly fancy just your typical 2 bedroom ground floor flat, 1 ensuite and an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner...the perfect size for 2.

I have been wanting to move out from my parents place ever since I returned from uni, with big plans of moving back to Bath never did I imagine myself living in the next town along from where I had grown up not to mention somewhere I was almost determined not to end up being. After failing to get a job in the beautiful city of Bath or anywhere remotely near it I landed myself a job working for a local furniture and home decor company close to home. A 30 minute commute every day and almost twice that to get back on some days I knew I just had to move closer, so here I am just a 2.5 minute walk away!! (no really)

After a busy week of packing and then a busy weekend moving everything in and building units and dining room tables...ok fine...watching people build units and dining room tables things are starting to all come together. All I need now is for my bed to arrive which I have had so many mares over trying to get delivered as it has been delayed twice now with its delivery. We have learnt about all the many bills we have to pay...I mean who even knew you had to pay for drainage?! I certainly didn't!

Expect a homeware haul to come very soon as I have had the most fun shopping for new homeware and accessories to fill this wonderful place!
